HR Director Baltics for Carlsberg Group

The HR Director Baltics will play an essential role in shaping the organization’s HR strategy, ensuring alignment with Carlsberg Group objectives while catering to local business needs.  This is a critical leadership role that requires a strong HR professional with business acumen, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution capabilities.

Position Overview:

As HR Director Baltics, your focus will be on driving strategic HR initiatives, enhancing workforce planning, and fostering a strong corporate culture that supports business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a Baltic-wide HR strategy aligned with Carlsberg Group’s priorities.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership, providing insights and solutions on people-related matters.
  • Lead the transformation of Carlsberg’s corporate culture, embedding key values and leadership principles.

Talent & Leadership Development:

  • Continue evolving  succession planning and leadership development programs to ensure a strong talent pipeline.
  • Oversee talent acquisition and retention strategies to secure critical capabilities.
  • Support the business in developing managerial and business critical capabilities, ensuring leadership effectiveness.

HR Operations & Compensation & Benefits:

  • Ensure effective workforce planning and labor law compliance across three jurisdictions, including close collaboration with Trade Union.
  • Lead the HR digitalization agenda, optimizing HR systems and processes.
  • Ensure full HR circle execution in all three Baltic markets, including strong C&B agenda, DE&I further enforcement, and EU pay transparency implementation.

Cultural & Organizational Development:

  • Lead the implementation of cultural transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with global Carlsberg Group programs.
  • Enhance employee engagement and employer branding, improving retention and workplace satisfaction.

HR Analytics & Performance Management:

  • Utilize HR data and analytics to inform business decisions and track key HR performance metrics.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of performance management systems, supporting a high-performance culture.

You will report directly to the CEO of Carlsberg Baltics, with a dotted-line report to the Region VP HR. You will be responsible for leading a team of 16 HR and administration professionals across three countries, ensuring an integrated and high-performing HR function.

Position Requirements:

Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in senior HR leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving people strategy, cultural transformation, and talent development.
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or production-oriented industries is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix organizational structure, managing dual reporting relationships and collaborating with regional and global HR teams.
  • Expertise in workforce planning, talent acquisition, retention strategies, and succession planning to ensure long-term organizational sustainability.
  • Strong experience in leading cultural and organizational transformations, embedding corporate values, leadership principles, and high-performance culture.
  • Ability to work effectively with CEOs, senior leadership teams, and global HR functions, influencing key business decisions and driving people-first strategies.
  • Experience in implementing HR digitalization initiatives, ensuring the integration of modern HR tools, automation, and people analytics.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and employment regulations across the Baltics, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation in HR processes.
  • Experience in developing competitive compensation and benefits structures, aligning with both market trends and internal equity.
  • Track record of leading and mentoring HR teams across multiple locations, fostering a collaborative and high-performing HR function.

Language Skills: Fluency in English, and preferably in Latvian.
